Tournament Golf

Tournament Golf lets PROPS players wager on head-to-head matches between the sport's top professionals!

Q: How does tournament golf work?

A: With Tournament Golf, you wager on the outcome of two players, rather than two teams, going head-to-head. Two golfers will be selected by WCLC to compete against each other throughout a tournament - one golfer designated as "Home" and the other as the "Visitor". Odds are set on each of three outcomes: "Visitor Win" (V), "Home Win" (H) and "Tie" (T). Wagers can be made only on PROPS.

Q: When can I wager?

A: Golf games will normally be available for wagering the day before a tournament. Golf dates on the PROPS Event List represent the scheduled first day of tournament play, and you can purchase tickets until the sales cut-off time on that day.

Q: When can I claim a prize?

A: PROPS golf is different from most traditional sports wagering, as results are based on multiple-day tournament play. Therefore, you must wait until the day after the tournament is complete* before you can claim a prize on a PROPS ticket that includes Tournament Golf wagers.

*A 72-hole tournament is considered complete if all eligible golfers complete at least 54 holes within seven (7) days of the date shown on the PROPS Event List. A 54-hole tournament is considered complete if all eligible golfers complete at least 36 holes within seven (7) days of the date shown on the PROPS Event List. Otherwise, the tournament is considered incomplete, and odds of 1.00 will be assigned to each of the "Visitor Win", "Home Win" and "Tie" outcomes for that tournament.

Q: How do you determine a Win and a Tie?

A: Unlike most sports, it's desirable in golf to have a lower score. For PROPS golf wagering, if both golfers complete the same number of holes, and neither withdraws or is disqualified, the golfer whose total score is three or more strokes lower than the other golfer in the tournament is the winner ("Home Win" or "Visitor Win"). If the two golfers' total scores are the same, or if they differ by only one or two strokes, the result is a "Tie".

Q: Is extra play included in Golf results?

A: No. Extra play (i.e. playoff holes) is not taken into account in determining golf outcomes.

Q: What happens if one or both golfers do not make the cut (i.e. the midway elimination score)?

A: There are a number of different scenarios in a golf tournament. The PROPS outcomes for situations that involve completion of the entire tournament, and missing the cut, are listed below.

Possible PROPS Golf Outcomes (not including withdrawals and disqualifications):
Situation What appears on the Game Results List
Both golfers complete the entire tournament. Each player's total score appears. The winner is the player whose score is at least three strokeslower than the other. If the total scores are the same or differ by only one or two strokes, the result is a "Tie".
Both golfers miss the cut. Each player's total score appears. The winner is the player whose score is at least three strokes lower than the other. If the total scores are the same or differ by only one or two strokes, the result is a "Tie".
One golfer completes the tournament, the other misses the cut. The golfer who completed the tournament is automatically the winner, and their actual total score will appear. The total score for the player who missed the cut will appear as "999".

Q: How are withdrawals and disqualifications handled?

A: Although withdrawals and disqualifications are infrequent in golf, these situations can occur. Their effect on PROPS wagering outcomes depends on when the withdrawal or disqualification occurs. Below is a list of possible instances:

Situation Outcome
XXOne or both golfers withdraw before starting their first hole of the tournament. The golf game is considered "cancelled" and a 1.00 value is assigned to all wagering outcomes for that game. An "X" will appear on the PROPS Event Results List to represent the 1.00 value.
XXOne golfer is disqualified or withdraws but completes more holes than the other golfer. The golfer who is disqualified or withdraws wins, providing the tournament is deemed complete.
XXOne golfer is disqualified or withdraws but completes the same number, or fewer, holes than the other golfer. The golfer who is disqualified or withdraws loses, providing the tournament is deemed complete.
XXBoth golfers are disqualified or withdraw, but one golfer completes more holes. The golfer who completes the greater number of holes wins, providing the tournament is deemed complete.
XXBoth golfers are disqualified or withdraw and complete the same number of holes. The golf game is considered "cancelled" and a 1.00 value is assigned to all wagering outcomes for that game. An "X" will appear on the PROPS Event Results List to represent the 1.00 value.

Q: What does it mean when the score "999" appears on the PROPS Event Results List?

A: With respect to PROPS golf, the score "999" will always represent a losing outcome. It is assigned to the losing golfer in the following instances:

a) If the two golfers complete a different number of holes, the winner is the golfer who has completed the greater number of holes. The PROPS Event Results List will show the total score of the winning golfer and will show "999" for the losing golfer.

b) If both golfers complete the same number of holes, but one golfer then withdraws or is disqualified, the golfer who has not withdrawn or been disqualified is the winner. The PROPS Event Results List will show the total score of the winning golfer and will show "999" for the losing golfer.

Q: What happens if a golfer does not start the tournament?

A: If, for any reason, one or both golfers do not start the tournament, an odds value of 1.00 will be assigned to all wagering outcomes for that game.

Q: Can a 1.00 value be assigned in any other circumstance?

A: Yes, if all eligible golfers do not complete 54 holes of a 72-hole tournament, or 36 holes of a 54-hole tournament, within seven (7) days of the scheduled starting date of the tournament, a 1.00 value is assigned to all wagering outcomes for that game.
